Darby Provides Buyout and Growth Capital to Enzen, an India/United Kingdom Infrastructure Engineering and Consulting Firm

Bangalore, India and Washington, DC, July 23, 2014 - Darby Private Equity ("Darby"), the private equity arm of Franklin Templeton Investments, announced that Darby Asia Opportunities Fund III ("DAOF III") has completed an investment in Enzen Global Solutions Private Limited ("Enzen"), an Indian company that provides consulting and engineering services in the energy and environment sector in India and the UK and has an electricity distribution business in India.

Enzen, established in 2006, provides advisory, project management and engineering design services for projects in the power, gas and water infrastructure sectors in the UK and India. Enzen's work in electricity distribution involves partnering with electricity distribution companies, with the goal of enhancing the consumer experience while reducing technical, and revenue losses.

"The investment in Enzen reinforces Darby's longstanding commitment to investing in well-managed mid-sized companies in India. Having established a strong platform and management team, Enzen is well positioned to benefit from the large, growing UK and India energy and utilities consulting and engineering market," said Deepa Sankaran, Managing Director, Darby India.

"We are excited to welcome Darby as our new partner and look forward to their active involvement on our board as we continue to expand our offerings and deepen our engagements with global energy and utility enterprises," said Satheesh Kumar, Founder and CEO of Enzen.

DAOF III seeks investments in industrial manufacturing and consumer-related companies located in emerging Asia. DAOF III has previously completed three investments in China. Including the investments of DAOF III, Darby-managed funds have collectively made 48 investments in the region.
